More to life

Where does ‘kink’ fit into your life?

Is it one spice in your cabinet of flavors? Is it ‘who you are’? Is it an unfulfilled desire whose frustrating absence  leads to obsession?

The reason I ask these questions is to point out why “Collected Submissions” often includes non-sexual topics. You see, for me, ‘kink’ is who I am and I am pretty much ‘out there’ to family and friends. As such I wanted to have a blog that was designed to be a place where people who identify as “kinky”could come and talk like adults and not have to self-censor their more non-vanilla tastes. The idea was a fellow lifestyler might make a comment that dealt with some social issue and include a reference to their lifestyle practices as example, without having to worry that ‘no one would understand’. So the idea was that we could certainly share experiences and advice that directly relate to the lifestyle we enjoy, but that we could also talk about other things with the understanding that we were doing so in a kink-friendly environment. It would be a blog/microcosm of life itself; titillating stories and images one day, personal anecdote another, an exploration of an adult theme on yet another, and maybe end the week with a rant over the state of society or political arena.

The very title “Collected Submissions” contained the tagline: “kinky stuff for thinking deviants”. The key word there being “thinking”. This was never meant to be a destination blog for guys looking to jerk off. There are plenty of other places for that. Nor was it meant to be 100% kink …...mainly because who among us as people IS 100% kink every minute of every day? How boring would such a life be?

The deck, arbor, pond, light, path, and garden that wouldn't be if all I did was recover from one spanking while awaiting the next. But which is not to say that I haven't been out in this garden with my hot, sore cheeks poking out of my denim chaps! It's all a balance. And if I'm going to share the story of the spanking one day......I may share what was currently in bloom on another.

I am who I am. I live a kinky lifestyle. But I also do projects and ponder other issues besides what spanking implement hurts the most. And this blog hopefully does…...and will continue to…...reflect that. ( Even if others might prefer otherwise.)

  1. I would say that, in the scheme of things, kink is a relatively small part of my life and my identity. I say that recognizing that my own blog is basically all about one kinky topic. To some extent, that's because I am not "out" in the way you are don't wish to put a lot of biographical details out there. I also get enough troll crap as it is, I don't want to exacerbate the problem by drawing even a wider range of commenters.

    1. Dan, you are perfect as is. True, male spanking and FLR-DD is a niche thing, but you do it well. Over the past 4 years we've all been through changes, but you keep on chugging along. There are bound to be weirdos and trolls, but you don't allow them to stop you. Go to nearly any spanking or BDSM site, and they will be there. I know that any time I see gravano on FetLife, it's bound to be trollish whether he intends it or not, and I handle it as such.

Just don't allow some trolls to stop you from doing what you do.

    2. Thanks, Merry! I have recently picked up this really weird troll. I've been saving up the comments to put in an upcoming post. They are really weird. I suspect it may be a bot, but it's not clear.

    3. Merry said pretty much what I was going to. My post was in no way a criticism of anyone else's blog since my point is that there should be different kinds out there. What you do is very unique and useful. I know of no other blog like it.

Meanwhile Hermione has a system that is utterly charming. Red does his combination of anecdotes and photos. Julie does her own unique thing. Leigh, Bonnie, et.al. all have their style.

My point is that the way Collected Submissions is presented is not an accident but a well thought-out array of a variety of things. I just wish more people interacted.

  2. I don't know about others, but I know that I enjoy most of the topics, whether it's about spanking and chastity, planning a party, or your political opinion.

I'm also glad that I don't always agree. What fun is it to have a group of sycophants as readers? By not always agreeing, I can share my headspace, whether here or by email. I can tell you about my triggers, and you can be aware for the "next time," and the best part (for me) is that whether I agree or not we're all mature enough to come back the next time and talk about something else, and with Shilo being where he is, you are a breath of fresh air.

    1. Thank you! I wish more people felt the same way.

Interestingly there is a blog out there that reminds me a bit of my own......only from a dominant female perspective. I even commented there more than a few times and tried to build a rapport with the author/owner. She seemed polite enough to respond back to my comments but refused to do a mutual link and has never left a comment here.

I have had other blog owners act similarly. I don't understand why, when it is so difficult to get people to comment at all, that others.....when given the opportunity to build a mutual relationship, will just stick to themselves.

It is a mystery of human nature I suppose.

    2. I admit to being a little selective about linking requests. It depends a lot on the content. If there is any whiff of kid stuff, I won't link to it. Or hardcore porn. It's not that I have any objection to the porn itself. I just don't want to have a mutual link that ends up with even more idiots leaving off-topic posts or sending me emails asking if I want to chat. That one is starting to get really old. Guys send me emails and say, "I'm a spanked husband. Want to talk?". Uh, that's what the fucking blog is for!

    3. Then there's the messages I get. Oh! You're a Dominant woman and I'm a submissive male that enjoys chastity and spanking. Will you please Dominate me online? NO!!!

    4. Dan & Merry: You two are obviously more charming than me. I've gotten no such requests......at least not in those words. I have been contacted privately but never in a way that bothered me.

Dan: Being selective is fine. I am too, and have not just gone out willy-nilly seeking links. But this person has linked no one else. Her blog is interesting though and I sometimes still visit there. I just feel disappointed that she is so contentedly isolated.

  4. " - - my hot, sore cheeks poking out of my denim chaps!"

Well, that's a visual I can't get out of my head for a while, LOL!! Congrats, K.D. - however, I have just one suggestion. I think Rosa should take a large magic marker and write down the date, reason and implement used for your punishment on your butt cheeks as a sort of temporary branding.

    1. Sorry if my description was a bit too graphic. Imagine what my neighbors think! Well......to be honest, Marta seems to enjoy it when it happens. LOL Wally probably feels more like you do. ;-)

Not sure about the marker idea. I'll mention it.

  5. Not too graphic at all. If it was up to me, the sight of male red, hot, freshly spanked butt cheeks would not be anything out of the ordinary - whether it be in the city, the country, or in suburbia.
