Bad timing

With this as our president, it's one unfortunate time to be in short supply of toilet paper.

Thankfully, except for the White House, there has not been a short supply of leadership. It is encouraging to see others step up and act in the absence of a competent president.

Which leads me to consider something I had not thought of before. While there will unfortunately be an inescapable and tragic loss of life.....which might be unavoidable even under the best scenarios...... for those of us who do survive this, there will be a very empowering message to be learned: if we can be confronted by a dangerous global pandemic while being led by the absolute worst crisis president we have ever had, and still survive.............WE CAN SURVIVE ANYTHING!

(I did hear another bit of irony. The absence of human 'life as usual' has already had small noticeable benefits to our environment. I have been very concerned over the near universal reluctance to do anything to slow down global warming. If anything positive comes out of this, the forced shutdown of travel and other carbon-releasing activities, may have come at the precise moment when it may do some good in avoiding a tragedy worse than Covid19.)

  1. Hey KD. Hope you and your family are OK. I agree with your premise, as long as there are enough competent people around him or in congress. But, already today there were reports he is frustrated with Dr. Fauci for correcting Trump's many misstatements. Though, given his narcissism, I suspect the real reason for Trump's frustration is Fauci is getting the limelight at his "boss's" expense.

    1. The Fauci-thing is telling......but nothing new.

We are fine here and I am just as busy as always. When the weather permits, I am outside cleaning and transplanting in the yard, when it rains or is too cold, I have been modifying and painting three passenger cars worth of O-gauge Victorian people.

    1. Sorry to hear that. I am not feeling much of a difference since I am always home and always busy on something. I have multiple projects going and still feel I don't have enough time to get everything done.

  3. Trump is a bully, it got him the white house. Being a bully built our stock up like never before, also more and better jobs (at least for awhile). but how do you bully a virus? Trump met his match. as far as global warming goes think about this. they want us to have electric cars. But it's OK for the beautiful people (all the ass holes we call movie stars) to have jet planes and party ships that use more fuel in one trip than you will use in a year. You and me have to change but they don't.

    1. We agree on all of this. However, the preferential treatment of celebrities is not an imposed condition. People here LOVE to idolize. I have discussed it before. I do not believe in celebrity privilege but our society does. For a 'people' who ostensibly believe in equality, we seem very willing to elevate others on the flimsiest of rationales. If people did not do this, we wouldn't have this problem, but go tell that People Magazine addict or Sports Fan that their celebrity hero is unworthy of special treatment.

    3. Dan: Didn't you hear? There were so many of them that were so incriminating that they had to burn all the printed copies and that bonfire got so big it increased global temperatures by a whole degree!

    4. I'm sure. I wonder how much Rudy contributed to global warming with all those flights to and from Ukraine track down the missing server.

  4. You must also remember that some in congress have sold their stock, both parties, knowing what was to come. So you can you really trust in our government to address this. Jack

    1. No, I am acknowledging that there always seem to be some to rise to the occasion. Meanwhile Trump has only risen in the way a turd floats to the top of the toilet bowl.

As for the inside trader stock profiteers? In my opinion NO DIFFERENCE than looting. All of them should be shot on sight by the National Guard.
